Episode 30: Nauru
In All of Us Command is a new podcast where we learn about countries and their national anthems. We will be drawing each new country out of a hat and taking turns researching them. In Episode 30, Kate digs into the history of Nauru, first named "Pleasant Island" by European explorers.
In an episode unofficially titled "Blood, Sweat and Phosphate", Kate learns about Nauru, the world's hunger for Phosphate, and what happens when you mine an entire island nation while also trying to use it as a strategic base in WWII.
